Tadalafil D3 is a stable isotope-labeled compound that is used as an internal standard in the quantification of Tadalafil in biological samples using mass spectrometry.
The chemical formula of Tadalafil D3 is C22H19D3N4O2, and its molecular weight is 385.48 g/mol. The deuterium atoms are substituted in the methyl group at the 1-position and the two methoxy groups at the 7- and 9-positions of the pyrazolo[4,3-d]pyrimidine nucleus.
Tadalafil D3 works by inhibiting the breakdown of cyclic guanosine monophosphate (cGMP) in the smooth muscle cells of the penis, thereby increasing blood flow and causing an erection. It also relaxes the blood vessels in the lungs, which lowers blood pressure and improves blood flow in patients with PAH.
Tadalafil D3 is available in the form of tablets and should be taken orally, with or without food, as directed by a healthcare provider. The recommended dose for ED is 10 mg, taken prior to sexual activity, and the maximum dose is 20 mg per day. The recommended dose for PAH is 40 mg once daily.
Tadalafil D3 is generally well-tolerated, but can cause side effects such as headache, back pain, flushing, and indigestion. It should not be taken with nitrates or alpha-blockers, as it can cause a dangerous drop in blood pressure.
