(1S,2R,1’R)-Cypermethrin is a synthetic pyrethroid insecticide that is widely used in agriculture and public health to control a variety of pests such as mosquitoes, flies, and agricultural pests. This compound is a racemic mixture of two enantiomers (1R,2S,1’R)- and (1S,2R,1’R)-Cypermethrin, but the latter has been found to be more effective and less toxic.
This insecticide works by disrupting the nervous system of insects, leading to paralysis and death. It has a broad range of activity against both flying and crawling insects and is highly effective at low doses. It is also persistent, which means that it remains active for a long time, providing long-lasting control of pests.
