Product Description

Alfentanil-d3 Hydrochloride is a deuterated form of Alfentanil Hydrochloride, a potent opioid analgesic used for the management of acute pain during surgical procedures. It is a synthetic compound that belongs to the group of fentanyl analogs, which are known for their potent analgesic properties and rapid onset of action. The deuterium labeling of Alfentanil-d3 Hydrochloride allows for the use of isotopic labeling in pharmacokinetic studies. It binds to mu-opioid receptors in the central nervous system, producing analgesia by inhibiting the transmission of pain signals. It also has sedative and respiratory depressant effects, making it useful for anesthesia. Alfentanil-d3 Hydrochloride is administered intravenously and its dosage is carefully adjusted by the anesthesiologist based on the patient's weight, age, and medical history. The drug is rapidly metabolized in the liver and excreted in the urine, with a half-life of approximately two to three hours. As with all opioids, Alfentanil-d3 Hydrochloride has the potential for abuse and addiction. It can also cause side effects such as nausea, vomiting, constipation, dizziness, and respiratory depression. Patients who are allergic to opioids or have a history of respiratory depression should not receive this medication. In conclusion, Alfentanil-d3 Hydrochloride is a useful and potent opioid analgesic that can be used for the management of acute pain during surgical procedures. Its deuterium labeling allows for pharmacokinetic studies, but its use should be carefully monitored to avoid potential side effects and addiction.
