Application Notes Vitamin D2 O-t-Butyldimethylsilyl Ether is an impurity of Vitamin D2, which is a synthetic form of Vitamin D. Prepared from ergosterol by UV irradiation in a suitable solvent. Commercial solutions are usually made with propylene glycol or sesame oil. Antirachitic. Vitamin D2 O-t-Butyldimethylsilyl Ether is also an intermediate in synthesizing (7Z)-Calcipotriene, which is an isomeric impurity of Calcipotriene (1442000), a vitamin D3 analogue with low calcemic activity.
